Awards Q & A
Q: May I submit an entry if I don’t own it or did not create it?
A: Yes, but you must have permission from the Entrant to submit them, or their work.
Q: How much does it cost to submit an entry?
A: Entries are $10 per submission, payable online via credit card or Paypal.
Q: What's the Submission deadline?
A: All submissions are due by midnight on April 20, 2012.
Q: Why do you only consider submissions from CMS Expo's Featured/Spotlight CMSs?
A: Each CMS is unique and the submissions should be judged within the context of that CMS. Since we have a limited time-frame to conduct a professional and thorough review of all submissions, we limit submissions to only the featured CMSes. In the future, as CMS Expo grows, we will expand the list of awards categories as well!
Q: How will I know if my submission was received?
A: All submissions will be acknowledged once CMSA has received both the submission and payment. You will be contacted by preferred contact type that was given on the submission form. If you do not receive confirmation within 1 week of submission, please contact: Linda Coonen at Linda [at} cmsassociation.com.
Q: If I submit, and then make changes, can I send in a revised form?
A: No, once a piece of work is submitted, it can not be altered. Although it can be cancelled if needed.
Q: When is payment due?
A: Payment is due together with the Submission Form, at the time of submission, and will NOT be considered by judges until payment is received.
Q: Do I need to attend the CMS Expo in order to SUBMIT a piece of work?
A: No, you do not need to be present to win, however, we would love to have you or a representative at the celebration! That said, attendance is not a condition of submission or winning.
Q: Do I need to be present at the CMSA Spotlight Awards Celebration to win?
A: No, all winners will be announced on May 8th, and official notification of winners will be on or by May 21, 2012 by the Submitter's preferred method of contact. We would love to have you or a representative present at the Celebration but it is not a condition of winning.
Q: How do I get a ticket to attend the CMSA Spotlight Awards Celebration?
A: A one-day pass (Tuesday, May 8th), or full registration to the 2012 CMS Expo includes one ticket to the CMSA Spotlight Awards Celebration. Additional tickets to the Spotlight Awards ceremony, held LIVE at the Hotel Orrington, are $25 each, payble online or by calling (815) 455-2900. Tickets for the celebration must be purchased by May 1, 2012.
Q: I do not want anyone else to see my piece of work except for the judges.
A: Don't submit any work if you (or the Entrant) do not want it seen. All submissions will be seen by CMSA staff, judges and the public. Additionally, all Entrants grant CMSA to use the imagery from the submission for promotional and communication purposes to spotlight the most talented professionals in the CMS Community. All submissions may be displayed at CMS Expo and included in advertising and PR. Non-disclosure agreements are also not accepted, nor enforceable. Simple answer: Don't submit it if you don't want it seen. ;)
Q: How are judges selected?
A: CMSA staff interviews and selects professionals who are qualified and appropriate to judge the Entries. That means CMSA Spotlight Awards judges are professional, respected and free from conflicts of interest.
